The process of turning old jewelry into something new
From simple modifications to complete redesigns, I love helping my customers turn something they own into jewelry they love.
Bring in the jewelry
This work requires an appointment where I can inspect the material and talk with the client about their likes and dislikes. Jewelry they now own and what they someday wish to own. I look at the size and shape of the jewelry and what they have to work with. Everything is done as a team effort, we will talk and I will do a few sketches. If there are diamonds involved, I will bring in the diamond setter for his view.
3D Models & Drawings
Once we have a drawing to work with, a wax model will be carved. In some cases, I will use a CAD designer that will do a CAD drawing that will be emailed to the client for approval before a wax model is carved. If there are small stone to be used, they will be waxed into the model along with the center stone. An appointment will be setup to view the wax model and review a cost estimate. Unlike most jewelers, I will use the client’s small size stone and even the gold. The goal is to create a design that fit the clients personality, using their jewelry and keeping the cost as low as possible.
